Kicked off as Music at the Mission in February 2005, presenting chamber music concerts at Fremont's Old Mission San Jose Church. By 2007, we expanded to St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica in San Jose and launched our Educational Outreach Program, bringing music to local schools with support from donors and the Niles Rotary Club of Fremont. 

Our reach expanded further with the intimate afternoon Salon Concert Series held in beautiful homes and the two-week ChamberFest Summer Music Festival, which supports aspiring young musicians. In 2018, we introduced a 12-week Artists in Schools (AIS) Residency, a partnership with Walters Jr. High and John F. Kennedy High School, where students learned to compose. Then we compiled their ideas, had it arranged for them by a composer, which culminated in a joint performance of students and professional artists of their piece. It's been a journey of growth, outreach, and inspiring the next generation of musicians and music lovers.

Then the pandemic hit. We kept the music alive through online concerts and Zoom Afterparties...but like everyone else, we had to wait it out before we could go live again.

Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the pandemic, we ignited a bold new chapter - reimagining what classical chamber music can be. Fueled by resilience and passion, we not only returned - we evolved, expanding our reach, deepening our impact. With dynamic concerts and powerful community engagement, we are harnessing the transformative energy of chamber music to enrich the cultural heartbeat of the Bay Area like never before.

Every dollar we receive goes to presenting chamber music concerts performed by exceptional artists, educational outreach, and free community outreach performance programs. We take your gifts seriously, and we make every effort to maximize your investment in Music with a Mission. Some examples of what your gift would cover are as follows:

$3000 - "Sponsor a New Work" Helps pay the commissioning fee for a new work to be premiered on Music with a Mission.

$2000 – "Sponsor a Concert" helps offset production costs for one concert or one, 45-minute Community or Educational Outreach program.

$1500 - "Adopt a Musician" helps pay for one Artist per concert.

$500 – Helps cover the cost of two piano tunings in one season; or the rental fee for one concert venue

$250 – Helps cover a portion of the printing costs of programs for one concert.

$100 – Helps offset the costs of postage and mailings of marketing materials.
